Thanks to a very generous grant by the Northwestern Lehigh Education Foundations (NWLEF) I've been able to add two Parallax "Boe-Bot" kits into my classroom. Starting in the fall of the 2011-2012 school year I will have two students working with them in a robotics independent study. I also hope to incorporate them in my other classes as well. The use of robotics and the programming that is needed to run them make great real work applications of mathematics.UPDATE (8-22-13): Robotics and electronics at Northwestern is again expanding and hopefully we may see an official course for the 2014-2015 school year. This year once again the Northwestern Lehigh Education Foundations (NWLEF) awarded my classroom a grant for more electronics components. This year we've been able to add two Arduino microcontrollers, 2 Raspberry Pi computers and a robotic arm to our collection of hardware. There will be multiple students working with everything and there should be lots of videos and updates added soon!Check out the links to the left for the latest robotics and electronics projects!!
