Hobbies:
Outside of mathematics I enjoy spending time outdoors. I am an Eagle Scout, Class of 1999. I enjoy camping, hiking, and backpacking. I also enjoy work outside in my garden and cooking and preserving food.
I have been researching and writing my family history for the past 7 years. My hope it to have it ready to publish my 2020. So far, there are over 5000 people on my family tree and I've written over 580 pages to document it all. All persons with the last name Smoyer, Schmoyer, and Schmeyer are related. If you are related to any of those names ask me, we might be distantly related!
Most of all, I love getting to spend time with my family. They are the light of my life!
As you might be able to tell from the graphic below, and some posters in my classrooms, I am a very big Doctor Who fan!
