Baskets In The Woods is presenting a series of interesting, functional basket weaving classes that will grace your house or be perfect for a gift. Rattan reed is used for all baskets. No experience is necessary but those with experience are welcome.

Snowman Bucket Basket (with awing handle):

This round basket, most accurately described as a cylinder, is 7” or 8 “ wide and  about 8” tall. The bottom is woven with spokes and round reed, transitions with a ‘foot” and traditionally woven sides. After the rim and handle, an optional snowman face is added. The reed natural color looks like the white of snow and the rim is dark so it looks like a snowman’s hat brim.

Weaving Level: Adv. beginner weaving, but all levels are welcome.

Cost: $45.00

Date: Tuesday, February 11, 2020

Time: 6:15-9:30pm

Over the Rainbow Basket:

The is a beautiful basket, using all the colors of the rainbow (ROYGIBV) as stakes, The sides are woven with a twill design which allows the colors to glow through. There are two options for the rim. The one that sets off the colors is a saw tooth rim and the other has a traditional look; is a standard lashed flat oval rim.

Weaving Level: beginner; rim level: advanced beginner but all levels are welcome.

Williamsburg Square Market Basket:

This is a sturdy square basket that can really be used. The large Williamsburg handle distributes the weight evenly over the woven bottom. A 3/8” patterned flat weave on the sides gives it a regal look as it widens as the height increases. The rim is a standard rim. Colors accents are available.
