Lehigh Career and Technical Institute


Our mission at Lehigh Career & Technical Institute is to prepare all students for successful careers and lifelong learning. LCTI is committed to fostering continuous improvement in curriculum, staff and student performance through a disciplined and structured quality system that solicits stakeholder input and drives strategic and operational planning.

Lehigh Career & Technical Institute is Pennsylvania’s largest career and technical school.

 

Founded in 1971, LCTI today provides more than 45 skills-based programs of study, as well as academic instruction for about 2,700 ninth- through 12th-grade students from Lehigh County’s nine public school districts. Those school districts are:

LCTI also offers industry-relevant training and credentials for adults working in the Lehigh Valley and beyond. The school’s state-of-the-art facilities encompass roughly 450,000 square feet on a 47-acre campus in the Schnecksville section of North Whitehall Township.

The Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit #21 (CLIU), located in Schnecksville, Pennsylvania, is an Educational Service Agency created by an Act of the General Assembly of Pennsylvania to help equalize educational opportunities for all students in the Commonwealth. 
 

The CLIU serves as the coordinating agency that brings together diverse school districts, vocational schools, businesses, higher education and community groups. The CLIU uses a "regional team" approach and through cooperation and collaboration among school districts and community agencies, provides innovative, responsive, and cost-effective programs. It is the job of the Intermediate Unit to facilitate inter-district cooperation, provide educational and administrative services to schools, and function as a link between the Pennsylvania Department of Education and local school districts.
 
CLIU provides a broad range of services to fourteen public school districts, non-public schools and two Career and Technical Institutes of the Carbon and Lehigh counties. Our services include: Curriculum and Instruction, Staff Development, Educational Technologies, Special Education Services, Non-Public School and Behavioral Health Services. Additionally, the CLIU also offers technology solutions through our Management Information Systems department as well as Business, Human Resources and Management services in community and educational settings.

        Lehigh Carbon Community College

 

Founded in 1966, Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) serves more than 7,500 students from Lehigh, Carbon, Schuylkill and surrounding counties offering more than 90 programs of study including healthcare, information technology, criminal justice, education and business administration.

From the main campus in Schnecksville and modern satellite sites in Allentown, Tamaqua and Jim Thorpe, LCCC offers two-year associate degrees, certificate and specialized diploma programs, and workforce training for students studying either full-time, part-time or online.
