Police Department
The Northwestern Lehigh School District Police was established in 2018 as part of the District’s ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and security of the students, faculty, staff and visitors to our District. The Department currently consists of both School Police Officers and School Security Officers to accomplish this mission.
The District School Police Officers have full police powers for any incidents that occur on District grounds, to include school transportation vehicles while carrying students to and from school.
The mission of the Northwestern Lehigh School Police is articulated directly into our motto: Protect, Prevent, Connect.
Protect – To provide an immediate and effective response to address and resolve any threat occurring during school hours or during after-school events held within the District.
Prevent – To serve as a visible uniformed deterrent against any possible threats; to continually evaluate and improve the emergency policies and procedures utilized by the District; to ensure the proper training of all employees and students in these procedures; to continually evaluate and improve upon the physical security measures in place within the District buildings and grounds.
Connect – Foster a positive rapport with students based on mutual trust, respect and honest communication. Provide a positive role model of law enforcement for students and staff to serve as a basis for any future encounters. Provide guidance to students in regards to the possible consequences of their actions as they move into adulthood.
