Addressing Concerns At School

The Northwestern Lehigh School District wants everyone, including parents and guardians to know where to turn if they have questions or concerns. The district believes in open and honest communication, especially with parents and guardians. To that end, we wanted to break down the proper flow of communication so that issues are resolved quickly and effectively. This will help us be most responsive to your needs and ensures the appropriate personnel are helping with the resolution.  The steps are also outlined in a chart below that you can download.

(1) Teacher

Speak with your child’s teacher (or counselor) if you have an issue. They are in the best position to address classroom-related issues and know your child best.  Most of the time, issues are resolved at this level.

(2) Assistant Principal

If an issue is not resolved at the teacher level, then please call or email the assistant principal (if your building has an Assistant Principal).

(3) Principal

If an issue cannot be resolved with an assistant principal, then the principal is your next point of contact.  The building principal will usually be able to resolve the issue.  You can call or email them directly by using the directory on our website.

Not able to resolve the issue at the building level?  You might be referred to another administrator who has more information about your particular concern (Student Services, Curriculum, Human Resources, Transportation, Technology, Operations, School Police, or Business Office)

(4) Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent

If an issue still cannot be resolved after the first three steps, then please contact the Superintendent’s office.

t this point, if you have gone through all of these steps and feel your concerns have not been adequately addressed, then you have another venue to turn to: the Northwestern Lehigh School Board can be emailed at boardnwlsd@nwlehighsd.org

Important: If you or your child is experiencing an emergency, please call 9-1-1. If you have a non-emergency criminal concern, please reach out to local law enforcement.
