Closing & Delays

Typically a decision is made by 5:00 am to open on time, delay, close, or use a Flexible Instructional Day (FID).  On most occasions, we will make ONE decision early in the morning, which will be the final decision for the day.  Once in a while, a little extra time with a delay MIGHT allow us to safely open school.  Decisions are difficult with changing weather conditions, country roads, areas of elevation, type of precipitation, and weather that does not comply with our time frames.  We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Notifications

Once a decision is made regarding a delay, cancellation, or use of a Flexible Instructional Day, we will communicate via the following ways:

• Send a message via Sapphire Notification System to all of our families and employees on our "Announcement" contact list.
• Radio and television stations are notified.
  • WFMZ
  • WYOU-TV 22 & WBRE-TV
  • 6ABC ACTION NEWS
• Message posted as an alert on our district web page.
• Message posted on the school district X, Facebook, and Instagram pages.
