Support Dog Program
The Northwestern Lehigh support dog program is designed to enhance the learning environment and bring added warmth and comfort to our school community. The intent of the program is to offer assistance to our students, who come to school with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, physical, and academic needs.
Baxter, a 4-month-old Labradoodle, will be joining our Tiger family this coming Fall 2024!
While Baxter is often considered “hypoallergenic,” no dog is truly hypoallergenic. Labradoodles shed less than other breeds, thus producing less dander. To reduce the potential for allergic reactions, we will implement measures such as using specialized products to minimize pet dander and regular grooming to maintain cleanliness.
