Mrs. Fornauf
I was hired as a 5th grade teacher at NWL in 1991. I must admit, teaching 5th grade made me nervous! I went to Shippensburg University to receive my elementary education degree and an early childhood certificate. I also attended Kutztown University to receive my Master's Degree in Education in 1996. I always dreamed of teaching kindergarten or first grade. However, after student teaching in 5th grade twice, I realized how much I really enjoyed this age. I was very fortunate to receive an opportunity to teach 5th grade at NWL.
I taught 5th grade since 1991, and returned to the middle school as a 6th grade teacher in fall of 2011. I am very excited to be back at the middle school and being a teacher on the Pathfinders team! As I was accustomed to fifth graders entering the middle school, I am excited to be on the receiving end of the sixth graders moving up to the middle school. This is a time of transition full of both excitement and anxiety. I look forward to helping your child make this transition smoothly. This age is so much fun - curious, investigative, playful, independent, social, the list goes on, and the middle school provides many opportunities for your child to become involved in a wide range of activities.
In 1991 I married my husband. We have one daughter entering college, one son at Northwestern Elementary, a black lab, and a snake. I
