As you know, the Board of School Directors approved a High School Modernization Project in June 2016. This plan will modernize the areas of the high school that were not renovated during the last two phases of renovations. The Modernization Plan provides one additional classroom space and a large group instruction (LGI) space that will be flexible space. The LGI room can be used as one large space or smaller spaces for instruction, community group meetings, or gathering spaces before or after events or performances. Additional renovations will take place in the gymnasium, auditorium, band/choir area, boys and girls locker rooms, four classrooms, the trainer's room, administrative offices, and the health room area. Groups of stakeholders met with administration and our architectural team to consider design options that were included in this last phase of high school renovations. The HS Modernization Project will provide upgrades to spaces that bring the last sections of the building into compatibility for learning in the 21st century and increase ADA accessibility for those with disabilities to restroom and locker room facilities, the entrance to the gym and auditorium, and areas within the auditorium.
